THE HOTEL
Get around Barcelona easily from the Catalonia Gran Via BCN hotel, just a 10-minute walk from Plaça Catalunya and Les Rambles.It is also extremely well connected to the rest of the city via the public transport network. The hotel you were after for your trip with your partner, family or for work.
After visiting the city, take a refreshing dip in our pool or relax on the sun deck or, if you book a suite, enjoy a terrace with a private pool. Your morning will start well with our large breakfast buffet and you can order something in our welcoming Gastrobar any time of day or request room service if you prefer. GASTROBAR
An informal space where you can eat or have a drink whenever you feel like it, without sacrificing quality and flavor. On the gastrobar menu you will find everything from snacks to dishes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine such as meat, fish, pasta and more. If you fancy a cocktail, you can have one of the classics or dare with more innovative proposals from our bartenders. In addition, the bar has television with sports channels so you don't miss a thing.

We know how comfortable it is in our rooms, so why go out? In our room service you will find the variety you are looking for without leaving the comfort of your room. Let yourself be surprised by our room service menu, with a variety of Mediterranean meat, pasta, fish, pizza and vegetarian options. If you are a lover of Japanese cuisine, order sushi and choose from trays with your favorite makis to miso soup, yakisoba noodles or tuna tataki. Save room for dessert!

Going out without breakfast? Impossible with our spectacular buffet breakfast! If you want to enjoy breakfast in the comfort of your room, we'll bring it to you (at an additional cost).

Nice hotel but hit and miss with the rooms
Nice clean hotel, comfortable beds. Good sound proofing in rooms overlooking the street. Initially I was given a ground floor room which was very dark, little natural light as the only window looked out to a wall and 2 other windows which meant if you did open the curtains the other two rooms could look straight into your room and the wall blocked all natural light. Felt like a dungeon. Thankfully they did finally move me to a second floor room which was a massive improvement with a little balcony overlooking the Main Street. Air con worked well, excellent shower. Staff were very friendly.

great value, great service amazing location
my wife and I go to catalonias in riviera maya every year , this trip to spain we decied to stay in a familiar hotel chain and it didnt disappointed from the welcoming front desk to the room , the terrace and the welcome gift we felt like home. the front desk every single one that we talked or asked questions they respinded with a huge smile, room was cleaned to perfection and the clenaing guy was very attentive to our request. the lady at the breakfast was AMAZING super nice to see a smiley face every morning. when we come back to barcelona we for sure will stay here again .

Repeat
Comfortable and satisfactory stay as usual. I appreciate the location and the early check in when possible since these very long exhausting flights from US arrive too damn early. The extra perks for the repeat guest membership are nice, but not consistently followed by staff. The 15% discount perk for bar/restaurant orders was not applied in fact order was overcharged, insignificantly in this case , but discouraging the future use.

Last minute stay
Our flight was cancelled at the last minute on 1st May and one of the nearest hotels was the Catalonia. The staff were very helpful finding 2 rooms for one night. The hotel itself was a real find with good facilities given that it isn't a large hotel. I would recommend the hotel.

Mixed Experience
The first two nights were great. The last night was terrible. Cut my foot on a glass that was broken during room cleaning and not properly cleaned up. Our air conditioner went out of service the last night and we could not sleep.

The hotel was great, clean and staff are friendly. One of the maid employees randomly opened the door while we were napping during the afternoon which was odd. She knocked and didn't give a chance for us to answer, and opened the door right away. My husband was in his underwear and after she noticed she rushed out of the room. Other than that incident, the hotel was great and the location is spot on.

February stay
Nice functional room. Stayed as a couple. 7th floor front room double glazed. 12euro breakfast which was very good, selection of fruit, cereal, juice, bread, cheese, meat,milks, yoghurt and hot food. Hotel was in a great location . Urgel metro two minute walk, La Rambla about 10 minutes walk away. We walked or got the metro to tourist spots. Would stay again

Not my first stay - but losing its charm
only one person at check-in. Had to wait for quite a while in a queue after a long journey. The room with the terrace did not have enough space. Will definitely not choose it again. No place to sit in the room and no sofa chair. Just a small chair at board connecting external basin to tea tray. Temperature in shower was either too hot or too cold - never got the perfect mix. However, like the charm and style and will most likely stay again. Location is perfect between the 2 plazas (Espana & Catalunya) and a few steps from the Urgell metro station and the airport bus stops.

An amazing night stay
Me and my partner stayed here between the 3rd til 4th December 2022 and all I can say it was magical We stayed in room 903 the room was amazing and so clean. We were given cava and fruit platter delivered to our room because it was are anniversary. That’s was so nice The staff are so friendly and helpful The hotel smells amazing. If I return to Barcelona I will definitely come back here. My advice to anyone think about coming here I would say (don’t walk run to CATALONIA GRAN VIA BCN thank you again

Really Nice Hotel in Barcelona
Just spent the weekend at the Catalonia Gran Via. This is my second visit this year. Nice easy hotel to stay in. Very central. Reasonable rates too and really clean rooms. It is a super location within a 10 minutes stroll of center of Barcelona. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Always try to stay at Catalonia
Always a great experience - register for their rewards program they do their best to get me an upgrade whenever available, and they always provide a surprise welcome gift and a free glass of cava at the bar on arrival! Prices can be a little high depending on the time of year but have never been disappointed.

AMAZING!!
Upon arrival we was greeted by a very funny, polite and so friendly receptionist! We also were upgraded. The hotel is very clean, smart and all the luxuries. Hotel is excellent location it has amazing cafes, local tapas bars, food around there is approx €3.50 for tapas whereas the la ramblers which is a 8 min walk away, more €8-€12 a tapas dish. Which is also fine as we stayed for two nights and did both. Shops are all next to it, we did a tour to the beach and walked this was a pleasant stroll through the historic Roman walls about 20mins and took a tour guide on e shooters! This was super fun way to get to see the city in 2 hours! We used segwaytours.com

Nice staff, room terrace not as expected
The staff were friendly and accomodating, and we enjoyed the welcome drinks. We decided to pay extra for a "superior terrace room" hoping to have a room on an upper floor level with views of the city as shown in some of the pictures. We did not expect the "terrace" to be on the 2nd floor, and we were not able to use it due to the multiple floor levels above us smoking and ashing embers into our balcony from their windows. This occured throughout the day, night and morning. The room directly above us was ashing embers on the chairs, tables and our head up to 1:30 am, we told the front desk and decided to stop trying to sit outside. We were not able to enjoy the outside space we paid for which was really disappointing. The room was a superior room only came with one coffee packet as well. Not what I would expect for the price we paid and title of the room.
